HSDN International is running a Bangla School and Social Wellness program based on Scarborough, Toronto in Canada with a special focused to Bengli community who are about 90,000 in number in the greater Toronto. The main activities of the program is to teach children Bangla language and heritage in an entertaining and social environment along with celebrating and organizing related events and workshops. As part of the activities, the Bangla School, Toronto observed Independance Day of Bangladesh on 25 March, 2018 at Oakridge Junior Public School to teach the history and sacrifices for the independance of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Association of Toronto, Ontario and TBPAC was the partnered organization of this event who were contributing to the program and to the communities for years.
The event audiances were welcome by Abdul Kader Himu, Vice Chair of HSDN International and Chaired by Eng. Rezaur Rahman, Chair of Bangladesh Association of Toronto, Ontario while Fakhruddin Ahmed Masud, Secretary of HSDN International and Dr. Kabirul Molla, Secretary of both Bangladesh Association and TBPAC jointly moderated the event.
Besides the historical speech of freedom fighter Gourango Dey, media person Abdul Halim Miah, Akhlak Hossain, Mr. Yusof, Mr. Howlader, Mr. Salam, Sajjad Hossain, Swapan Sarker, Mr. Nuruzzaman, Siddertha Saha, Shammy Akter, Raffia Mokbul, Taposh Paul, Azim Dewan, Mahbuba Khanom, Monsura Begum, Mrs. Rahman, Ms Dipica, Mr. Sohel has joined the workshop discussion on how to develop Bangla School program to engage people to get its benefits. Mr. Jannatul Islam, founder and executive director of HSDN International informed the audiances how the Bangla School has been providing its services more than a year free of cost just based on voluntary contributions. Children from Bangla School presented poem recitation and song which gave a great impression and feelings of origin to the community people attended the event. Eng. Rezaur Rahman concluded the event summerizing the essence of the workshop saying to create an Bangla School Development committee engaging people from different representation to entend the Bangla School facilities.
