Members of the World Wide Holistic Sustainable Development Corporation (WWHSDC) Present at Bonne Bay Conference

April 20th and 21st saw several members of the WWHSDC attend the Harris Centre’s Conference on Sustainability and Development in Western Newfoundland at the Memorial University – Bonne Bay Marine Station in Norris Point, NL.

The Conference provided an opportunity to network with highly motivated and high-achieving individuals working hard to improve society and its impacts on the environment in the region and abroad. The conference was unique in that those attending were overtly seeking to build connections with the goal of reinforcing their endeavours through mutual cooperation.

Several workshops were organized throughout the day to investigate the role ‘‘cooperation and collaboration’’ can play in solving sustainable and developmental problems affecting Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans. As a panacea is the utilization of Yaffle (http://www.yaffle.ca/) a Memorial University project, which is designed to link researchers, concerned citizens, stakeholders and funds around key issues and unique challenges. Although the conference only lasted 2 days, the WWHSDC was able to make strong connections and links to be pursued in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for more updates.
